Change is a fundamental aspect of growth and development, and educational institutions are no exception. As announced in December 2023, Presidio Graduate School is in the process of merging with the University of Redlands, and as one important step, began hosting classes on its northern California campus in September 2023. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the school’s journey, promising a stronger foundation for fostering sustainability leaders of tomorrow.

Presidio Graduate School has been a beacon of sustainability education since its inception. Its mission to educate and inspire professionals to create a more just and sustainable world has attracted students, faculty, and staff who are deeply passionate about environmental and social responsibility. The move to the University of Redlands Marin Campus aligns perfectly with this mission, offering a platform to expand and strengthen their impact.

The University of Redlands Marin Campus, nestled in beautiful San Anselmo, California, provides an idyllic setting for Presidio Graduate School’s mission to flourish. The campus’s natural beauty, with its lush greenery and proximity to the San Francisco Bay, provides an inspiring backdrop for students dedicated to sustainability and social justice.

The Marin Campus offers newly installed state-of-the-art facilities that will enable Presidio Graduate School to continue to offer “hyflex” courses, where students can choose to participate in person or online. These modern classrooms support Presidio’s nationally-based student body to participate in the monthly residencies either live or in person, depending on their schedules.

The campus also offers a myriad of places for students to learn, play, and even live.  The campus includes six classrooms, two student lounges, several event spaces for receptions and reunions, and immediate access to nature for meetings and relaxation. Students also have several options to stay on campus, including as long-term renters in apartments as well as in dorms for the residency weekend.  All of this is a quick walk from downtown San Anselmo, a quaint and picturesque town with restaurants, cafes, pubs, and more.  The towns of San Rafael, Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco are all within 10-45 minutes as well (depending on traffic!).

The University of Redlands Marin Campus is known for its commitment to sustainability, making it a natural fit for Presidio Graduate School. Both institutions share a passion for creating a better, more sustainable world, and this partnership will amplify their collective efforts. By working together, they can promote sustainability not just within their walls but also in the broader Marin County community.
