Presidio Graduate School Alumni Association

ABOUT

Founded in 2010, the Presidio Graduate School Alumni Association (PGSAA) is led by an elected board of alumni Directors and serves to engage, connect and celebrate Presidio Graduate School alumni. The PGSAA board works in close partnership with members of the administration to support the mission and purpose of the association. While most of the nearly 700 members are in Northern and Southern California, PGSAA members can be found throughout the United States and in France, England, and the Netherlands.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Association is to support the development and growth of PGS and promote fellowship and social activity among alumni. The Association helps to develop opportunities for dialogue between alumni and administration, supports development and fundraising, and engages alumni across programs to support the mission of the school.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the PGSAA is free and automatic for all graduates of PGS programs. Benefits include:

  • Provide professional networking opportunities for alumni across the MBA, MPA, Dual Degree and Executive Certificate programs
  • Deepen collaboration with the school
  • Strengthen connections within the alumni community by hosting meaningful social gatherings

 

Meet the Board Members

 

Inna Henry, MBA C13

Inna Henry (C13) is an Imaginal Fellow within Metamorphosis, a collective of artists and entrepreneurs throughout the US prototyping social innovations that unlock synergy and regeneration by developing organizations explicitly designed to cultivate the essence of individuals, groups, and places. Inna co-founded Headlands Brewing Company in San Francisco during her last year at Presidio. She now lives in Los Angeles with her family and is starting an alternative to traditional K-12 education that engages parents and greater community to grow together.

 

 

Greg Kandankulam, MBA C13, President Emeritus

Greg Kandankulam started his career as a US Naval Nuclear Engineer and has a strong background in power generation from an operational perspective. However, after his time in the Navy, he got out of energy and into finance. Unfortunately that road lead him to derivatives and secondary marketing. It was during the recession that he took stock of his values and that is what lead him to PGS. Since that time he has enjoyed quite fulfilling career
that includes being:

• Co-founder of a software start-up – Sustainability Data Performance Management (Enterprise Resource and Impact Investment)- GreenIntelli
• Program Manage an International Sustainable Development non-profit funded by the Dutch Government- OrangeGoesGreen
• Sustainability Consultant/ Technology Developer for a Dutch/American Energy Company- Real NewEnergy
• Sustainability Commissioner for the City of Sausalito

 

Carley Klekas, MBA C17, Community Vibrancy Chair

Carley is a C17 MBA from Presidio Graduate School and the Community Vibrancy Chair on the Presidio Alumni Board. She works applying her passion for sustainable and safe cosmetics as a Marketing Manager for Amyris, an integrated renewable products company who creates sustainable replacements for chemical and petroleum-derived products, including personal care. She has a wide breadth of sustainability and corporate responsibility work including working as a Marketing Fellow for the Natural Resource Defense Council’s Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) program, an EDF Climate Corps Fellow, a Marketing Consultant for start-ups in the Bay Area and a Brand Manager for a cosmetics company. Her MBA projects include a greenhouse gas emission analysis for Wells Fargo, marketing for the Plastic Disclosure Project, and the development of a sustainable men’s deodorant brand, Wild Arrow. Carley received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she studied Psychology and Environmental Science. In addition to her international trip to Chile, when she was the Co-Chair of the International Sustainability Club at Presidio, she also spent a semester studying in Spain at the University of Santiago de Compostela. She enjoys hiking, snowboarding, traveling and has an exuberant passion for integrating sustainability into the cosmetics and personal care industry.

 

Ketan Hazari, MPA PA3, PGS Integration Chair

Ketan enjoys exploring what different perspectives bring to sustainability. From data science to biology. His passion is fostering development and cooperation between these disparate agents in an information ecosystem. He works as a Sustainability Analyst for ProductBio, a start-up designed to close the “green” information asymmetry gap in organizational procurement. He has spent time working in software QA where he learned about freedom and responsibility, and utilizing resources creatively. He hopes to continue instituting change in supply chain sustainability. Ketan is most happy when camping and least happy when people are hurt.

Ketan holds a MPA in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School and a BA in Economics from the University of California at Davis.

 

Spike Lomibao, MBA C15, Treasurer

Spike Lomibao owns a graphic design consultancy established in 1991, dedicated to collaboration with mission-driven organizations and companies that value making positive change in the world. It’s his goal to help them express their soul and purpose—authentically and memorably. His expertise includes marketing strategy and promotions, visual communication, and brand management. He is excited to be serving on his first board of directors and plans to bring a unique creative energy and leadership to the Presidio community. Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, Spike is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. He loves to play volleyball and tennis, travel, and cook. An advocate for enjoying life, Spike firmly believes in the power of laughter.

 

Ema Phelps, MBA/MPA C16, Vice President

Ema Phelps has a background in private sector consulting with proven results in project management, strategic development, and team coaching. With dual MBA and MPA degrees in sustainable management from Presidio Graduate School - and a passion for cross-sector partnerships - she is dedicated to help drive impact. Ema has conducted financial-sector market research and sustainability reporting projects for New Resource Bank, a B Corporation; explored philanthropic impact investing with Mission Investors Exchange; supported economic and workforce development programming with the City and County of San Francisco; and was an inaugural member of the City of Berkeley’s open data team. Ema was also on the board fundraising committee and the curriculum development committee at Presidio Graduate School.

My goal as a PGSAA board member is to strengthen partnerships between PGS, local governments, sustainable businesses, communities, and fellow alumna.

 

Michelle Reyes, MBA C15, President

Michelle Reyes. LEED Green Associate, works in project management in Project & Development Services at Cushman & Wakefield, a global commercial real estate firm. She is striving to join her green building background with her passion for personal sustainability. Michelle has a varied work history, with experience in marketing for a transportation planning firm and in operations and database management for a graphic design firm. She has also worked for municipal and state agencies in Northern California.

Michelle holds an MBA in Sustainable Business Management from Presidio Graduate School, and a BA in Urban Studies from San Francisco State University.

 

Anne Sauer, MBA C17, Services & Delivery Chair

Anne Sauer is motivated by meaningful work. Her drive to make the world a better place has manifested itself in many ways throughout her life as she has sought opportunities to express her passion for education, intersectional feminism, STEM, and environmentalism. She currently manages ChIPs, a nonprofit founded in 2005 by women leaders in patent law that is dedicated to promoting the advancement of women in intellectual property and technology. Previously, Anne empowered socially oriented food entrepreneurs by providing financial and human capital consulting through Friday Consulting, and contributed to the mathematics education revolution with education technology nonprofit Reasoning Mind. Anne is especially passionate about sustainable leadership, which for her means using social and emotional cues to develop meaningful and effective relationships and working cultures, and she is proud to be able to help.

 

David Stripling, MBA C14

David Stripling is a renewable energy consultant and strategist, and was formerly the Director - Corporate Development at Soligent, where he designed and developed their Solar Engine program, a residential finance and customer acquisition platform that developed over three thousand residential PV projects. He has extensive experience in channel sales, project management, operations, strategy, and program development from his 7 years tenure in the solar industry. He holds an MBA in Sustainability from Presidio Graduate School, and a BA in Classics from the University of Texas at Austin. David is an avid outdoorsman, song writer, man of letters, and is passionate about sustainable business practices.

 

Meghna Tare, MBA C18

Meghna is the Executive Director for the Institute for Sustainability and Global Impact at the University of Texas at Arlington where she works collaboratively with faculty, staff, the student body to address opportunities to promote sustainability in several areas including greening facility operations, promoting innovative research, supporting and encouraging student initiatives, implementing an environmentally and sustainability­focused curriculum. She recommends policies and strategies to advance the university’s commitment in campus sustainability. She is a passionate and decisive change agent with proven success driving results, building teams and managing complexity in fast moving environments. She has a strong track record for setting ambitious goals, guiding strategies, developing and executing plans. She is a TEDx UTA speaker, was featured as Women in CSR by TriplePundit, is an active blogger, and holds an MBA degree in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School, MS in Environmental Science from San Jose State University, and MS in Chemistry from University of San Francisco. She has a sunny and positive attitude about life and all of its adventures. She enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and building relationships with friends and co­workers.
