DEI in the Classroom
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are foundational topics in our curriculum.
- Since 2021, we have offered three courses focused on DEI:
- Creating a Sustainable and Effective DEI Strategy with Tanya Bluford.
- Integrating Racial Equity into Our Sustainability Work with Cecily Joseph.
- Promoting Anti-Racism and Diversity in the Workforce with Liz Leiba.
- For the 2022-2023 academic year, we have invested in a faculty training series focused on DEI and have also committed to working more closely with leadership faculty on incorporating DEI skill sets into their curriculum.
- Presidio is also committed to diverse voices in the classroom and encourages instructors to consider diverse perspectives in their reading list and guest speaker roster. We are also committed to hiring diverse faculty; for our latest semester, we had 71% women and 40% faculty of color.
